Bereavement Garden
2022 Malvern RHS Spring Festival
Abigail’s Footsteps were delighted to have a presentation garden thoughtfully designed by Rick Ford, intended to be a calming place where families can sit together and seek contemplation. The garden, as seen on BBC One’s Gardening World, was designed as a series of interconnected spaces, that reflect the transitions that parents experience, with a tranquil planting palette featuring soft textured and scented plants.

Funds raised at Malven contributed towards an Abi Cooling Cot donation to Worcester Royal Hospital.

Vice President Cheryl Baker met with garden designer Rick Ford, to learn more about the design and concept.

Thank you to all the suppliers that generously donated materials, to bring this wonderful presentation garden together.
A bereavement garden is a gentle space to simply be. Away from the noise and expectations. Surrounded by calm and care, allowing reflection for our baby, to remember, and to begin processing our grief. It’s a place where we can feel close to them, hold our thoughts quietly, and take small steps towards healing.”
