If you are a parent who has recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of a baby, you may be seeking support as you navigate this difficult time. Abigail’s Footsteps offers a compassionate, award-winning counselling service dedicated to helping bereaved parents like you find a way forward.

Our counselling is specifically designed for parents who have sadly experienced the death of a baby. Abigail’s Footsteps is proud to have been recognised for its exceptional support and care, and our experienced team is committed to providing a sensitive and personal approach for every family. The charity takes great pride in its team of specialist baby loss counsellors, all of whom are highly qualified professionals within their discipline.

Taking the first step to reach out can be daunting, but you are not alone. We can take referrals directly from your bereavement team, or if you would like to self-refer. We are here to provide support, understanding and care at a time when it is most needed.

Pregnancy After Loss Counselling

Abigail’s Footsteps also offer Pregnancy After Loss support to parents that have previously accessed our service. These sessions offer a calm, compassionate space to talk through the unique mix of hope, anxiety and uncertainty that can come with pregnancy after baby loss, and to explore practical ways to feel supported between appointments and key milestones.

Counselling Locations

The service is available in three face-to-face locations, as well as online, ensuring you can access support in a way that best suits your needs. For those attending in person, our bespoke counselling room in Rochester provides a private and comforting space where you can talk openly and safely about your feelings and experiences.

The counselling sessions have changed me in ways I never thought about, I am now calmer, nowhere near as anxious as I was after losing my baby and now learning to live with my loss and cope with life.

I would highly recommend seeking out support from Abigails footsteps counselling service. They are a service that specialises in baby loss and really know how to support you through and listen to you during those really tricky first few weeks and months. I truly couldn’t feel luckier to have been signposted to them.

Bereaved Mum, London

I would highly recommend this counselling service to anyone experiencing the loss of a child. After losing my baby, I felt very lost. The sessions provided me with a safe, non-judgmental space to process my grief. The counsellor was incredibly empathetic, and I felt supported every step of the way.
